Cooler Master Green Guard – Grand Finale

Taipei, June 27, 2008

The Green Guard Vision
Green Guard is an online community for avid earth-loving people who endorse environmentally friendly technologies. This online blog launched in December of 2007, allowing a new providence of Green Guardians to register and to share their very own views on “how to keep it green”. The blog has been very positive for the community as hundreds of registered members shared their ideas of green deeds and collectively promoted concepts of earth friendly technologies. With useful links, postings, and some very creative ideas, the outcome of this Green Guard movement has resulted in thousands of useful details for our guidance in building a more energy efficient world. The Green Guard movement is meant for us to join hands and to keep our green synergy going, and to continue on a global scale.

The Prizes Awarded
As an independent program run by Cooler Master, registered users and bloggers from around the world have been rewarded with gift packages as encouragement for their honorary intentions. We certainly hope that their acts as good Samaritans will continue to grow in their daily lives, in their communities, and that they will continue to make the changes today for a better tomorrow.

And the Winners are:

Grand Prize Winner of the Toyota Prius 08 – flower99

Cooler Master Gift Packages of Real Power Pro 750 and Cosmos 1000 – 36 happy winners

The Grand Prize Winner and his dedication
After long deliberations from the Cooler Master crew, we are very thankful of all the wonderful and creative postings we have received. Of all the qualified candidates, we found some to be very tech-savvy and some to be heartwarming or with humorous twists; all very interesting and definitely making it more difficult than we expected when making our final decision.

With all these considerations, however, flower99 has received the highest votes as our lucky grand prize winner. Flower99 is currently a Sr. Account Manager at an IT distribution company, who spends much of his time educating retail channels and users about energy efficient products. We related especially to his white collar story, where technology and mobility was described as a necessity for our modern careers. According to him, going backwards to riding a bike or calculating through an abacus seemed too farfetched and not feasible for the average individual. Instead, with his strong interpersonal skills he has chosen to move forward by advocating “Greener Concepts” without affecting our daily lives. With the great tutelage presented by him to key decision makers in his local community, including educational institutions, businesses and system integrators, we believe his work is a job well done and nominate him the People’s Champion and the happy winner of the new energy efficient Toyota Prius.

Final words
With rising concerns over our environment, and our prominent concerns with today’s energy shortage, Cooler Master aims its green causes today to broaden our horizons. We strongly believe that being environmentally friendly is not a job of one entity but of a collective unity, thus to encourage movements in a greener totality we encourage all vendors to join arms and educate by manufacturing and promoting better and more energy and environmentally efficient products. Thank you all Green Guardians, with your support we can build a brighter future.

Discerning computer enthusiasiats know that a PC is only as strong as its weakest link. Skimp on a few components, and the stability of the entire system is in jeopardy. To provide these users with the very best desktop power supply money can buy, Cooler Master is proud to unveil the UCP series – a breakthrough line of power supplies engineered for users that depend on their computer systems day in and day out. As the winner of Tom's Hardware's Innovation award and now “80 Plus Silver” certified, this power supply is built with top-of-the-line components and is a major feature in advance power distribution. The UCP Series delivers levels of performance and efficiency that are second-to-none.

The UCP stands for Ultimate Circuit Protection, and it's easy to see why. At the 5 and 3.3V output and 3.3V conversion stages, Cooler Master outfits the 900W and 1100W UCP power supplies with no less than eight solid capacitors, which generate less heat and have a high tolerance for high frequencies and temperatures. Cooler Master also uses Japanese-made electrolytic capacitors throughout, which are known for their superior quality and longevity. In addition, the UCP Series includes a soft-start circuit that prevents damage occurring to the power supply due to any power peaks in the AC voltage. By selecting only the finest components and including innovations like the soft-start circuit, Cooler Master has created the UCP Series to be the most durable desktop power supply on the market.

Introducing the Silent Pro Series Power Supplies from Cooler Master

Cooler Master's exclusive "silent formula" delivers high efficiency with supreme silence

Taipei, Taiwan - Jun 13, 2008 - Noise pollution is an escalating problem in both the home and office. Combined with the increased demand for media-centric PCs, total noise generation is becoming a major focus for computing enthusiasts. As a leader in PC power supplies, the engineering minds at Cooler Master have developed the Silent Pro Series. Featuring a superior thermal solution, a highly efficient circuit design, and value-added accessories, the Silent Pro Series and its "silent formula" set a new standard in silent computing, generating a noise level of less than 16 dBA.

The Silent Pro Series is based on three main components, which together form the Cooler Master Silent Formula. The first component is a highly-efficient circuit design that not only reduces the overall heat generated, but reduces the amount of power lost during the energy conversion process. In fact, the Silent Power Series delivers power efficiency of 85% or more, which means that more of the power that is being used is put towards actually powering the system. With this design, users can enjoy a quieter system since lower heat generation means that fans don't have to spin as quickly. In addition, less power is wasted means lower power consumption and lower electric bills, saving users money while minimizing environmental impact. In fact, all Silent Pro Series power supplies come with 80 PLUS® certification which guarantees high efficiency, and meet Energy Star, Blue Angel, and RoHS requirements.

The second component is a specially designed thermal solution. The Silent Pro Series begins with unique "hot spots" that draw heat away from hot areas of the PCB to a series of copper plates. These copper plates conduct heat almost twice as well as traditional aluminum. This heat is then transferred to a series of aluminum heat sinks that excel at dissipating heat thanks to a fin design that maximizes surface area. From there, a huge 135mm fan blasts away heat by delivering 1.5 times greater airflow than conventional 120mm solutions. This fan comes with an intelligent fan controller that adjusts the speed of the fan according to temperature, which dramatically decrease noise levels by automatically slowing down the fan when the system is not under load. Finally, heat is exhausted away through a unique honeycomb outer casing that minimizes airflow resistance for silent and effective cooling.

The third and final component of the Cooler Master Silent Formula is a selection of accessories that come with each and every Silent Pro PSU. Two silicon rubber pads help to eliminate noisy vibration when installed. Silent Pro PSUs utilize a modular cable management system, which allows users to install only the cables that are required. Cooler Master also provides flat modular cabling with each Silent Pro PSU. The combination of a modular design and flat cabling only makes things neater inside the case, but also helps minimize airflow resistance for less noise and better thermal performance.

Cooler Master Unveils the Latest Line-up at COMPUTEX 2008

Taipei, Taiwan – Cooler Master is proud to showcase the latest and greatest in PC chassis, power supply and cooling at COMPUTEX 2008. Not only does the company have a full range of products to be unveiled but will also have its new and unique material treatments on display. Visit Cooler Master at the new Nangang Exhibition Hall, booth J1318.

Chassis, Power Supplies and Coolers Unveiled
With the COSMOS S introduced earlier in 2008, Cooler Master has another interesting chassis for the mid-range market dubbed HAF, High Air Flow. This chassis accommodates numerous 200mm fans which provides for extremely enhanced airflow from all directions.

Cooler Master shows no signs of slowing down with CPU coolers, presenting new and uniquely “asymmetrical twin-fan” designs that come with numerous cooper heat-pipes. The advantage is evident already with regular 120mm fans, as they will provide the effect of much larger fins and fans in comparison. Not to be left out is the V8 cooler, which will help any CPU reach new over-clocked speeds and increase the horsepower for any system; this V8 engineering break-through just garnered the COMPUTEX TAIPEI design and innovation award 2008.

Complete new lines of power supplies will be shown in detail, namely the 2008 Silent Pro M and UCP lines. Silent Pro M is built upon our patented silent formula, which uses innovative heat conduction methods along with unique layout designs to minimize noise. The UCP series, short for Ultimate Circuit Protection, which will become the top-of-the-line power supply series from Cooler Master, uses the best components possible, achieving no less than an 88% efficiency rating.

Cooler Master Launches Hyper Z600 Passive CPU Cooler

Cooler Master Launches Hyper Z600 Passive CPU Cooler

Silencing a PC has become an important issue for many PC users, and Cooler Master’s engineers have taken this seriously, developing a slew of new products addressing issues related to noise. Today, Cooler Master announces the Hyper Z600, a finely engineered state-of-the-art passive cooler that catapults into the top echelon of noiseless CPU coolers. Extra expansion options for hardcore overclockers are also thrown in for good measure.

With zero tolerance for noise, the distinctive “X” design retains rapid heat transfer and creates a lower back pressure, forcing air to pass through quickly. Optimized fin spacing along with interlaced fins presents an ingenious method to maximizing surface areas. To top things off, the mirror finished copper-base extending into the 6 heat-pipes allows the Z600 to passively cool and take on even quad-core CPUs running up to 89W (see note).

Overclockers were also kept in mind when designing the Z600, as up to two 120mm fans can be added to opposing sides of the heat-sink in a push-pull configuration. With one 120mm fan, the Z600 transforms into a first class cooler for CPUs running beyond 89W. With two fans, the Z600 becomes an extreme cooling solution for the serious overclocker. The Hyper Z600 is compatible with all existing CPU sockets.
