This cooler was sent as something aimed at the budget builder so I really was not expecting much going into this review. When I tested this product it really amazed me. I have to say, the build quality is excellent, the performance is great for the price point and this is definitely a product I would recommend for anyone looking for an inexpensive cooling solution for their CPU.

This is also the FIRST cooler I have seen that lists the i5 (1156) as a compatible processor. Not only does this cooler do a decent cooling, it's controllable fan makes it easy to adjust the noise level. Finally, this cooler is much smaller than many others, so its likely that it will fit into your case.
Overall the Hyper TX3 does very well for the price, and it does what it should. The Hyper TX3 is definitely an upgrade from stock cooling. If you are looking for small, simple, and adequate I DEFINITELY recommend this cooler.
All things considered the Hyper TX3 has earned an 8/10 for being a great entry level cooler!!

The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 has taken its first fully compatible Socket 1156 cooler and made it worthwhile. Its small design packs powerful cooling even with only one 92mm fan. The installation takes a different approach and adds some easy methods to help the user along. The TX3 can be found online for around $19.99 making it a cheap and powerful CPU cooler. Overall Think Computers would like to award the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 CPU Cooler a 9 out of 10 score and our Good Value Award!

If you need a cooler for your new 1156 Core i5/i7 CPU, we recommend both the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus and the Hyper TX3. Each of these are impressive and up to task, and while each have their differences, both are great products and deserve serious consideration for your purchase shortlist.

The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 out performed the stock AMD cooler by 4.5c on core 1 and by 7c on core 2. That's a decent performance increase over the stock cooler. The TX3 would be perfect for someone who has a smaller case with limited space, but still wants optimal cooling performance. It would also be a decent cooler for someone with a large case, but cooler master has better options out there like the soon-to-be-reviewed Cooler Master Hyper N620.
Pros
- HDT techology.
- Decent drops in temps.
- Extra clips for optional second fan.

I like the idea and implementation of direct contact heatpipe coolers because the idea just works. I have seen it and used it on plenty of Intel Core 2 systems and really was one of the few I was willing to pass on to a family member in need of a better cooler for an overclocked system. Would I do that with the Hyper TX 3? Sure I would. While 58 degrees Celsius under load when overclocked is warmer than I like, it is still well within the thermal boundaries set by Intel and offers up a significant drop in temperatures for what amounts to a price that is quite appealing. It doesn't hang with the big boys, but that's not the pool it is swimming in either! Clean up the base and you have a quiet, inexpensive performer!

Intel’s reference 1156 cooler is quite impressive for a bundled heatsink but despite this Cooler Master and Thermalright were able to provide us with performance which was impressive for products which don’t utilise liquid. In terms of installation procedure the Thermalright method was quicker but slightly more awkward as the X bracket can move around. The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 required us to screw in the clips which is a little more time consuming but its was easier to attach to the board as a result, additionally it supports more processors/sockets than the Mux-120. On the performance front the Thermalright just edges it with a 2 degrees Celsius advantage.

So in the end, Coolermaster once again restored my faith in their products. They won out over Evercool and especially the stock heatsink. And if that temperature difference alone isn't enough to make you want to buy the TX3, there's also the prices. The TX3 can be had for under $25 on most online storefronts. That's half the cost of the Transformer 6, which it outperformed, and only 1/3 more than the stock cooler. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Coolermaster Hyper TX3. The price is right, and so are the temperatures.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive a package containing the Hyper 212 Plus and Hyper TX3, both of which prominently tout LGA 1156/1366 compatibility (not to mention AM3 support). According to the company's Website, the "Hyper 212 Plus is Cooler Master's first cooler to be equipped with an all-in-one mounting solution that includes LGA 1156 and 1366. Direct Contact heat-pipe is now also utilized in this latest update."

The TX3 is in direct competition with the stock coolers from both CPU manufacturers. In our case we put the TX3 up against the Intel stock cooler which the TX3 clearly beat at idle and when a load was applied. Idle numbers are close within three degrees. But at load this is when the TX3 excelled. The TX outperformed the stock cooled by a whooping nine degrees. Not bad for a $20 cooler.

The Coolermaster Hyper TX3 is a simple heatsink which is easy to install on both AMD and Intel 775/1156 processors. In terms of acoustics, the Hyper TX3 is a moderately audible at full speed and near silent when CPU duty is low. I think it's easiest to sum up the Coolermaster Hyper TX3 by saying this; for 85W TDP and lower processors it's a good thermal solution at any fan speed. For +125W TDP chips I'd recommend operating at full fan speed.

I am really impressed at how Cooler Master were still able to keep a high quality build design and implement lots of little extra touches like the ability to add a second fan and the fact the cooler can fit the new LGA1156 socket.
Of course we are not looking for the best performance ever but the TX3 was able to hold its own and offer stable performance at both idle and load states.
Overall, if you're looking for a well-performing, solid cooler, with the TX3 you really can't go wrong and all at just Euro $12.99 – great job Cooler Master.

A couple notable things about the TX-3 that stood out to were the exposed heatpipes and the rubber pads on the fan to prevent vibration. That goes to show you that even in a budget product they were still able to include features that you would see on high end CPU coolers. Once put to the test the TX-3 stood up very well against some of the best heatsinks made when considering its amazing $19.99 price tag. If you are on a budget and looking for a heatsink you would be crazy to not consider the TX-3.

The CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 is the first heat pipe direct touch CPU cooler from CoolerMaster. This cooler is marketed towards the lower end of the enthusiast spectrum, where stock speeds and sometimes mild overclocks creep their way into a box or two. The price reflects this too. MSRP of the Hyper TX3 is $19.99 and should be in the retail chain soon. So for about twenty bucks you can get a cooler that will do the job and then some.
CoolerMaster has added the ability to add a second 92mm fan for even more cooling prowess, configured in a push/pull configuration may lead to even better results. With the rising cost of living expenses and consumers having less disposable income a 20.00 cooler is a welcome addition to the stable. I wouldn't have a problem recommending this cooler to anyone who is going to either run the processor at stock speeds or throw a slight overclock on it. If you can deal with the fan noise it will handle a mild overclock on the Q9550 to 3.5. The CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 receives our HOT HARDWARE award.

I really think Cooler Master has done the right thing here, taking basic ideas and simple design while incorporating it with most of the fine points of a quality cooler and saving the consumer money at the same time. What more could you ask for? The Hyper TX3, while it may be simple in looks and basic design, it gets done what it was set out upon the world to do. 61° Celsius is no small feat in our testing and a quick tour down the list shows that coolers with a much bigger price tag aren’t all that much cooler or quieter than the Hyper TX3. Kudos to Cooler Master for coming up with a very affordable option for the masses, as well as being my first look at any i5 solutions!

So there you have it, this conclusion does not need to be any longer. The TX3 is a fair and honest product. If are not planning anything uber extreme with your PC yet merely stick at a mild overclock, then the Hyper TX3 comes very much recommended, not only for your typical PC, but the sheer silence makes me recommend the cooler in a HTPC environment as well. It's hard to beat a heat-pipe based cooler in this price range, and within its range this cooler hauls ass. Nice job Cooler master, well done.

The most positive point is the price, 14,95€ TTC, this ventirad is really not expensive and it must be the cheapest one who purpose HDT technology, the PWM and compatibility with almost all the socket except the LGA1366.The mounting is very easy and this ventirad is good performing.

I just have to start by saying that this has got to be one of my favorite CPU coolers I have ever used. To have the flexibility to switch from Intel to AMD as quickly as it does is a great feature, plus the ability to attach another 90mm fan to increase its cooling power is a huge plus in my books. Unfortunately it did have the highest temps under load in the tests, but I think that the addition of another fan would help improve these numbers. In the end I truly have to say that I really like this CPU cooler.
