Although there are a few minor items on this case I would like to see changed, I still believe it to have a solid place in the Cooler Master line up. The Cooler Master Centurion 534 is a case I would call an entry level model. It's makeup and features seem to endeavor to stay simple, not only to understand, but also to use. If someone is a novice computer builder or does not want to invest a lot into the cost of the case, then this isn't a bad route to go. On average you can find this case for about $70 - $85.

For those of you who have been working with PCs longer than you'd like to remember (or with those horrid OEM pasts to forget), Cooler Master is a name that needs no introduction. Making waves years ago with their ATC Series of Full Aluminum Chassis, then with their TAC or "Wavemaster" series of cases. Now, as luck would have it, Cooler Master has gone on to produce some other notable cases in the market - like the Stacker, and its offspring, the Stacker 830. They're all the top of the crop, premium models. So what's your everyday user to do when they want Cooler Master quality, style, and flair, albeit without a trail behind their wallet? Simple - grab one of the "Value" cases so to speak. From this vein of cases, I've already looked at the Ammo 533, and today, based around the exact same base, but with laid back design ideals, classy lines and a similar price point, I've got the workhorse of the Centurion line in the lab. How does it look, feel, and perform? Well then, read on to find out.

In comparison with the Sunbeam Trio, the last case that we tested, the Centurion 534 is much more convincing. In fact, it has very few defects and they are really benign. Relatively "neutral" on the aesthetic, this CoolerMaster will seduce certainly more of a design by its sober. From a practical point of view, it enjoys excellent accessibility to facilitate mounting or an update. Without being revolutionary systems without screws (inherited from previous generations) of the Centurion 534 is really effective and easy implementation. Except in the case of some devices such as 5 quater rehobus or LCD. In the end, he could be accused of being delivered with a single 120 mm fan but given the overall quality and price, this is not a significant complaint.

Cooler Master's Centurion series of casings seem targeted at the entry level enthusiasts looking for a simple and modern casing but who are unwilling to shell out top dollar for the newfangled bells and whistles, like casings with thermal isolation chambers and silent, sound dampening panels. Instead, the Centurion series aims to be a good compromise between features, design and price and the latest addition to the series, the Centurion 534 has inherited these characteristics.

The RC-534 continues Cooler Master's mid-priced Centurion line nicely, delivering the same quality seen in previous versions with a refreshed look. Styling is all-business, and the black version would look especially handsome in a professional environment.

There are lots of positives surrounding this case. Ample construction, solid design, 120mm fan compatible, as well as being able to support all of the ATX form factors. Clean lines on the front, an included 120mm blue LED fan (with fan header and 4 pin main molex support), and an ease of working on due to rolled edges throughout the inside of the case. LOTS of space for a blow hole on top, or additional fan modding on the side of the case, and an easy "tool free" equipment installation.

Cooler Master continues to improve its Centurion family of computer enclosures with the release of the Centurion 534 and I??m sure that with its modest price point the Centurion 534 will find its way into many homes, offices and dormitories. Cooler Master is well known for their inclusion of concise installation instructions and those included with the Centurion 534 live up to this tradition. This photo shows the instructions, the slides for three hard drives and the assorted stand-offs and screws supplied with the case.

Thankfully, this much-touted aspect of the Centurion 534 is quite well done and Cooler Master has covered that thoroughly in its design. It is also probably what Cooler Master is banking on for this casing, as after all it is hardly an attention-grabbing casing. While its design and build quality are quite refined, coupled with solid construction thanks to its steel foundation, its plain Jane looks would probably not earn more than a second glance. Of course if you are attracted to LEDs, the blue ones on the Centurion may just turn your head. Frankly though, lots of other casings have this too so relying on LEDs alone as a plus point would not be enough.

The case is made of aluminum, which has several functions, especially – to look nice, to reduce heat inside of the case, and its lightweight properties. As you can see from any of the photos on this page, the case looks very nice.
